Motherhood Photography in Lucerne

I believe motherhood should be celebrated every day. As a mum myself I understand we and our children share a special bond, a feeling of trust and unconditional love.

I also know that being a mum is challenging and we try hard to capture every moment of our child growing but we are mostly the ones who take our family/kids pictures and rarely appear on them ourselves.

With this photoshoot you can slow down, enjoy time with your child, make unforgettable memories together while I capture the unique bond between you and your kid/s.  Remind them and yourself of what a special mum you are!

Of course not! Even as a teenager, your child will always be your child!

I love to capture the unique relationship between you and your son or daughter, the unspoken moments and the precious bond you both share!

I believe fatherhood and motherhood are both equally important and special.

There is something so real and honest about fathers and children.

Their bond is unique, the connection they have playing together, the way dads teach their kids, the generosity of their hugs, how they help them in little things, their eyes looking at them with pride … all this and so much more is worth to be captured.

I normally start the session with some posed photos, everybody looking at the camera is the first picture I take to break the ice.

I will then explore more emotional and storytelling pictures taking a step back and simply look how you and the kids interact.

You can be completely relaxed, I will still guide you, there will be moments of joy and play, laughs and maybe some tears, let the kids be themselves making them comfortable and familiar in front of the camera.

If you have more than one kid, I will take portraits of you, both with all the kids together and with each kid separately, each one deserves a special moment with mummy.

Children are children! Even if the session is well planned, a child may still not want to “play his part”.

I recommend that you as parents stay calm and don’t lose your nerves. I will find the beauty in the chaos and capture unique moments.

Of course, we can also take a short break any time, something to drink and a small snack always help.

A tip that always works: prepare a small gift for your children, that they will receive after the photoshoot if they behave well.

As soon as your appointment is booked I will send you an Outfit Guide with color combinations, ideas and tips in how to choose the clothes.

I have a wide range of outfits and accessories for little girls (from 2 to 11 years old). If you would like to see the dresses, I will be happy to send you pictures of them.

If you want to shop before the shooting, I have collected some preferred shops for you in my guide.

I always recommend enough water and a small snack that won’t leave stains on your clothes. Mosquito spray in summer is a must!

For family phootshoots I always have a blanket with me and small vintage toys. Soap bubbles are a must, the kids (and parents) love them.

For a special photo shoot with decoration (flowers, baskets, ..) you can have a look in the “Birthday” or “Children” portfolios.

You can quietly prepare the outfits for the whole family and send me photos so that we can find the best combination.

Hands will always be visible in the photos and in many close-up shots. Before the shoot, please check if the hands of all family members look well-groomed.

Your children should have slept well. If our planned photo shooting time slightly overlaps your kids’ afternoon nap, it’s better to postpone it a bit so that everyone has slept well.

It’s better not to make big plans or run errands the morning before the shoot.

Make sure no one comes hungry. And just have a small snack in your pocket for emergencies.

Tell the children that you organized an adventure and Sara would document it so that the family will have lovely memories for the future.

The children have to be themselves; they don’t always have to laugh or look at the camera, it’s actually best to have no instructions at all so that the shooting flows naturally and everyone has fun.
